GW Information Technology is the chief provider of technology services and applications at GW. The area partners with all key stakeholders across GW to equip students, faculty, and staff with the technology and tools necessary to achieve academic excellence. This position works within GW Information Technology and ensures collaboration with both University stakeholders and external vendors.
The Enterprise Systems Developer II is part of the IT Enterprise Application team focused on delivering and supporting technology for HR and general business capabilities at GW. They will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of enterprise systems software for a mix of SaaS and on-prem applications at the university. This position develops and test application modules, builds custom reports, prepares software code for production or user testing and creates technical requirements, design, and testing documentation as necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop technical specifications from functional requirements using strong analytical skills.
- Develop test plans, test application modules and support user acceptance testing
- Ensure consistent implementation of enterprise-level best practices in System Architecture and Software Engineering including deployment procedures and change management.
- Develop and maintain applications leveraging frameworks and libraries such as React.js, Node.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS and programming languages such as Java and SQL.
- Design and implement APIs including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and handle data in JSON format effectively.
- Manage source code repositories and implement version control best practices using GitHub.
- Streamline workflows and automate business processes through the development of scalable, efficient solutions.
- Share knowledge and best practices and learn from others within a team environment to raise the overall abilities of the team.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher Education work experience preferred.
- Experience as developer or analyst for a major ERP package such as Ellucian, Oracle, Workday, Peoplesoft, SAP is desired.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, SQL (understanding of PL/SQL, PostgreSQL) preferred.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner, Ethos/RESTful APIs use and development highly desired.
- Experience with workflow automation tools, or job scheduling applications is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with technical and functional staff.
- Experience in supporting, enhancing and upgrading Enterprise systems is desired.
- Understands all aspects of the software development life cycle such as requirements, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to multitask and coordinate with supervisor and team on competing priorities.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, Unix, Windows and Cloud Platforms is desired.
- Experience with Agile development methodology such as SCRUM, Kanban and Iterative development preferred.
- Experience with integrated development environment such as Eclipse or JDeveloper is desired.
- Experience with source code and version control tools GitLab/GitHub preferred.
