JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Workforce Education and Development (WFED) program within the Learning and Performance Systems (LPS) department seeks a talented Part-time Multimedia Specialist to support the promotion and community-building efforts for Workforce Education and Development courses. This position involves creating engaging multimedia content, managing digital marketing strategies, and fostering a strong online community for WFED courses.

Primary Responsibilities

Content Creation and Promotion

  • Develop, edit, and publish high-quality video content to promote Workforce Education and Development courses.
  • Record and edit footage of live classroom sessions and create promotional materials.
  • Create short-form videos and live cast sessions to expand viewer engagement.

Community Engagement and Strategy

  • Develop and implement strategies to build a vibrant online community for WFED courses.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance course visibility and enrollment.
  • Manage WFED's online presence on social media platforms.

Event Support and Coordination

  • Assist in the coordination and execution of live events and broadcasts.
  • Design and implement multimedia solutions for course-related promotions.

Program Alignment

  • Ensure alignment of promotional activities with WFED program goals and Penn State multimedia policies.
  • Coordinate with College multimedia specialists to avoid overlap and duplication of efforts.
Qualifications

Required

  • Recent college graduate with a strong interest in multimedia content creation.
  • Proficiency in video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
  • Basic knowledge of social media management and digital marketing.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with live casting or streaming platforms.
  • Knowledge of workforce education, career development, or similar fields.
  • Creative portfolio showcasing previous multimedia work.
