Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The University Testing Center ( UTC) was established in 1987 under the Division of Academic Affairs. Its administrative responsibilities are to ensure that resources are available to offer special assistance to students and the community.

The Testing Center administers national college; computer based testing, proctored exams, College Level Exam Program ( CLEP), and academic placement tests.
Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide secure exam delivery and superior customer service, understands and complies with all testing procedures and protocols. Checks in examinees, verifies identification, and explains the exam process; monitors examinees while testing is in progress and communicates with internal departments to investigate and fix technical issues; strictly adheres to testing policies using careful judgement; coordinate, plan, and administer off-site testing; obtain required certifications as a Test Center employee; respond to phone, email, and in-person request in a timely manner, maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of records and test; analyze placement scores to determine appropriate placements and ensure that customer service interactions comply with FERPA guidelines.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of Student Banner or an equivalent system; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Applications; knowledge of coordinating and managing projects; knowledge of office and record management; knowledge of assessing and evaluating programs; knowledge of writing reports; knowledge of placement testing; ability to work in collaborative environments using shared data sources and online applications; ability to critically think and analyze data; ability to critically think and analyze data; ability to work independently with little or no supervision; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills, excellent editing skills; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment.

Required Competency Client/Customer Service
Duties
Provide a secure atmosphere for test taking clients. Maintain monthly honoraria documentation. Contact incoming students for required placement testing. Check in testing candidates according to established security and confidentiality protocols. Monitor and proctor student testing


Required Competency Work Coordination/Planning
Duties
Maintain and update testing calendar. Maintain and update incoming student documentation through Excel spreadsheet Coordinate and collaborate with Director of Testing and staff members regarding daily testing schedule as well as various University departments regarding events such as SOAR orientations. Also coordinate and collaborate with IT regarding upgrade and maintenance of equipment and software.


Required Competency Technical Knowledge
Duties
Maintain and update all hardware and software for computer labs. Troubleshoot software. Keep in constant contact with IT. Troubleshoot technical issues with major client.Stay abreast of current technology trends and software management. Maintain required certifications within the guidelines of third party contracts.


Required Competency Administration
Duties
Correspond with incoming students, parents and client administration. Organize and maintain unit inventory. Distribute testing information to incoming and external testing students. Create SOP and Testing Center policies & consistently seek out and participate in professional development
