Job Summary

Manages the design, implementation, and evaluation of engagement programs/initiatives that build affinity to the Honors College and the institution. Serves as the key liaison with Honors College Housing and collaborating University units.

  • Manages day-to-day operations of student engagement programs to meet College and University goals and objectives. Coordinates the development, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of new and ongoing Honors College student programming and engagement initiatives. Analyzes data for quality improvement action plan.
  • Oversees the Honors College portal and pathway in Panther Connect (Engage/Campus Labs) to monitor student engagement.
  • Coordinates and serves as the liaison for volunteer opportunities, both internal and external. Oversees the verification of service requirement satisfaction via Give Pulse.
  • Supervises, selects, trains, and evaluates student assistants, practicum students, and interns. Provides guidance and support to ensure that the goals and objectives of the project, program, service, or function are accomplished.
  • Plans and executes Honors Hours, Lectures, and Colloquial, in addition to selected Honors College events.
  • Organizes, monitors, and improves the Honors College Living Learning Community (LLC). Works in collaboration with Housing to ensure services are provided and issues are resolved. Coordinates with College Recruiter to maximize the value of Honors Housing in attracting top new students.
  • Serves as the staff liaison for Honors College student organizations and other University student groups requiring the college's involvement. This includes the development and maintenance of an annual registration process for Honors College organizations.
  • Develops, facilitates, and conducts workshops, meetings, and classroom presentations.
  • Fosters and maintains partnerships with colleges/schools, student organizations, and campus resources in facilitating Honors College objectives.
  • Participates on designated college and university-wide committees such as the Undergraduate Research Conference at FIU (URFIU) planning committee and Student Engagement Council.
  • Recruits, selects, trains, and directs the Honors College Leadership Council. Coordinates all logistical matters related to the Council's yearly project, including planning, initiation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Works with social media specialist and other appropriate individuals to develop communication/marketing strategies to inform Honors College faculty, staff, and students of programming and engagement opportunities.
  • Assists development officer in connecting with alumni and current students who demonstrate affinity with the Honors College.
  • Assists with space allocation for special events, as required.
  • Utilizes data and reporting tools to research, analyze, and propose improvements.
  • Stays abreast of best practices related to student development and engagement.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Experience working in higher education, preferably with first-year students and/or orientation, retention, transition, advising, and coaching programming.
  • Prior experience with advanced features in Microsoft Office Suite.
