Position Overview


Primary Purpose of Position
Train, supervise, and evaluate SHRA staff and the student leadership program. Coordinate the creation, instruction and evaluation of leadership training activities for student leaders and first-year students. Assist with the planning, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of new student orientation and first-year programs. Coordinate the online orientation registration process and database management for Fall and Spring. This position will also assist the Director of Orientation and New Student Programs and serve as the department's lead, in the absence of the Director of Orientation and New Student Programs.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The Office of New Student Programs is housed in the Division of Enrollment Management. New Student Programs strives to help new students make their transition to the university by familiarizing them with the campus and its resources, assisting in the development of skills necessary to make the adjustment to campus life and the Aggie community,

increasing their confidence in their abilities to succeed, and instilling a positive outlook on their future as a student. In addition, New Student Programs works with parents (and families) to foster an environment of community support for students.

Minimum Requirements
Master's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or and equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
A Master's Degree in related discipline and two years of experience in higher education is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of student programming and student development-experience as a mentor or facilitating a mentoring program. Experience in enrollment management or related field. Experience supervising students and professional staff. Demonstrated teaching experience or experience leading workshops. Experience with public speaking for large and diverse populations.
Required License or Certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
