-Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and faculty, work independently and manage multiple responsibilities, and take initiative when appropriate.
-Ability to work in a flexible way that allows for changes in assignments and priorities depending on programmatic and student needs
-Presentation and group facilitation experience

Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The John R and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (
HCHHS) at North Carolina A&T State University (NC A&T) solicits applicants for the position of Student Engagement Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to develop and implement initiatives that promote student success and professional growth. We seek an innovative individual who understands the current student landscape including challenges they face and activities they are likely to participate in. This position works closely with all units in the college to coordinate academic advising and administrative functions that promote student engagement, academic success, professional development, and a strong sense of community within individual academic disciplines. |

The John R. and Kathy R. Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences (
HCHHS) comprises six departments and the School of Nursing. The
HCHHS offers the following undergraduate degree programs; Communication Sciences and Disorders, Health Services Management, Kinesiology, Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, and Sociology. At the graduate level,
HCHHS offers four graduate degree programs including the Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (PA program), Master of Social Work (
MSW), Master of Science in Health Psychology and Ph.D. in Social Work, PhD in Applied Psychology, and Doctor of Nurse Practice (
DNP). The
HCHHS is also home to the Center of Excellence in Integrative Health Disparities and Equity Research (
CIHDER), a hub for multidisciplinary research and community engagement efforts to alleviate health inequities. The
HCHHS capitalizes on the synergistic relationships between these departments to develop advanced academic programming, enhance the mentoring of trainees, and conduct collaborative multidisciplinary research and scholastic activity. |

- Organize student success workshops, seminars, on various presentation platforms

- Work with various university units, such as academic services, student affairs, and residence life, to coordinate activities and resources and promote participation in campus activities.
- Represent the college, departments, or programs at events, such as college fairs, orientation programs, community events, and outreach events; Create marketing materials and promote activities to encourage maximum student participation.
