This position will be a hybrid-based schedule, offering candidates the ability to share time working from home and in the Annapolis, MD office. *Location*: Annapolis, MD *Pay Rate*: $35-40+/HR (Depends on Experience) *Work Model*: Hybrid (Schedule To be Determined) *Schedule*: Monday - Friday (Normal Business Hours) *Position Summary:* As a Coding Appeals Specialist, you will be a crucial member of the denial management team by reviewing claims denied for coding-related root causes, as well as suggesting process improvements to reduce future denials. *Benefits:* * *Exposure*: Ability to join and gain exposure to a large healthcare organization and work alongside many other healthcare professionals, giving one many career advancement opportunities. * *Hybrid Based Schedule*: Ability to split time working from home and in the office! * *Competitive Pay**:* Enjoy a competitive salary commensurate with your experience and skills. * *Comprehensive Benefits Package**:* * 401K Retirement Plan * Health Insurance, Vision, and Dental Insurance * *Promotions and Salary Evaluations**:* Regular performance evaluations with opportunities for salary increases and career advancement. *Responsibilities:* * Performs retrospective and prospective account reviews and resolves coding edits to ensure that coding is accurate, and documentation supports reimbursement. * Analyzes coding-related denials (for problems such as bundling issues and inappropriate * (CPT/diagnoses) to identify trends and root causes. * Develops process improvements for coding and documentation workflows based on denial analysis and industry coding guidelines. * Organizes data into clear reports that are presented to denial management leadership, physician advisors, and providers. * Provides regular feedback to denial management team members and coding/physician educators to promote departmental knowledge of best practices within coding. *Qualifications:* * Associate's Degree in business, healthcare, or related field is preferred. * Current coding certification (RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS) is required. * Bachelor's degree in health information management, business, healthcare, or related field is preferred. * 3-4 Years of medical coding, denial management, and/or reimbursement experience is required. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
