Position Overview The QA Tester/Automation Engineer must work under the direction of the QA Manager to support testing of all MetroPlusHealth systems and data sets for business-critical processes. The QA Tester/Automation Engineer is responsible for day to day test operation and test automation across a variety of platforms. Must be a quick learner, with excellent communication and relationship skills. The QA Tester/Automation Engineer will help to improve our QA processes and work toward ensuring that all our work is properly tested, and our QA best practices are met.
Job Description
- Quality Assurance tasks at all stages of data and application lifecycles
- Review and analyze system specifications
- Create and run tests on new and existing software and applications
- Develop test cases and prioritize testing activities
- Record defects and bugs
- Document and report metrics as required
- Assist software developers with design processes
- Work with end users to formulate and design user acceptance criteria
- Communicate and work with other testers and stakeholders in the software development lifecycle
- Automate tests as necessary
- Develop regression test plans, executing as appropriate
- Work with the Application Support Group supporting applications and data to further MetroPlusHealth' mission and strategy
- Work under the direction of the QA Manager towards fulfilling a comprehensive, end-to-end test strategy for projects and system enhancements.
- Work within cross-functional QA efforts across multiple projects ensuring accurate, on-time delivery of required functionality with production-ready quality. Build strong working relationships with a diverse group of technical and business partners.
- Work on Release Notes for In-house Releases.
- Actively test for Data Quality and Integrity.
- Ensure metrics data is captured for various projects; compute and report testing metrics.
- Work with Development Teams when designing new computer programs by adding QA/Testing best practices, analyzing requirements; constructing workflows; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
- Develop automation processes for testing efficiency improvements
- Working with fellow members of the Team, provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
- Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and other data partners
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 2 years of experiences required
- Strong background in MS Visual Studio, MS SQL Server, and related Microsoft development tools (VB/C#/SQL).
- Strong background in web-development and testing tools
- Strong organizational, planning and analysis skills.
- Hands-on experience with ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) for test/defect tracking.
- Expert understanding of, and competency in, creating comprehensive test plans, test cases, resource plans, test schedules, and other QA work products.
- Hands-on experience with test processes and methodologies, testing techniques and software test tools used for software testing life cycle.
- Prior testing experience in backend testing processes, including large data validation efforts.
- Familiarity with regulated reporting processes preferred
