APP Fellowship Walk In Urgent Care

Providing an opportunity for the new graduate APP to participate in a year-long training program which provides didactic, simulation and day to day support integrated with our (GME) General Medical Education supporting our Team Based Care Model. This position launches with training in Walk-in Care through to Primary Care and commences with the APP developing their own patient panel. A minimum of 90 minutes of protected time is carved out of the weekly schedule for didactic learning. Specialty blocks of training in Primary WomenI"AA-s Health, General Cardiology, Diabetes Management, and in office minor procedures (Suturing, I&D) included. In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical expertise to assigned patient populations to ensure the delivery of high quality care. Scope of practice will encompass expert clinical practice, expert guidance and coaching of patients and families and other healthcare providers, research leadership (clinical, professional, and systems). Duties are performed in accordance with the NJ Board of Nursing guidelines for Nurse Practitioner or Board of Medical Examiners for Physician Assistant

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program as determined by the Committee on Allied Health. Education and Accreditation or a current Registered Professional Nurse and Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program/Masters in Nursing.

EXPERIENCE:
New Graduate Advanced Practice Provider

SPECIAL SKILLS:
* Current Certification from the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) or for Advanced Practice Nurses a current Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). * Hold a valid, current New Jersey license. * Obtain a New Jersey CDS and federal DEA certificate upon employment if not already covered. * Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem solving. * Participation in pertinent professional and/or specialty organizations preferred. * BLS certification * Serves on call and weekends as required
