Summary:

Dot's Pretzels is currently looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to work in our Edgerton, KS location. The Inventory Control Specialist will have familiarity and experience with warehousing, shipping, order picking, parcel orders, and process management along with great people and communication skills. This position will report to the Warehouse Manager and oversee receiving and inventory control as they work alongside the people and processes in this warehouse area.

In addition, the Inventory Control Specialist:



  • Completes cycle counting either as scheduled or as requested by the warehouse manager.
  • Analyzes inventory discrepancies that are excessive for possible misplaced or misused items.
  • Checks inventory levels on packaged and raw materials as requested.
  • Manages specific inventory locations to ensure inventory is accurate.
  • Manage specific inventory storage location codes. Add new location codes to the Warehouse Management System, tag shelves with labeled tags (maintain a listing in a spreadsheet, reprint signs as required).
  • Ensure warehouse space is utilized effectively and remains clean and safe.
  • Reports any inventory close to shelf life to prevent inventories from being outdated.
  • Suggests movement of product locations to maintain the most efficient locations.
  • Performs job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.
  • Be a self-starter; ability to work independently as well as with other personnel and management
  • Represent self and company in a professional and positive manner
  • Attend required company meetings and training and participate in constructive discussion
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service



Skills and Experience:



  • Previous experience operating a Forklift
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, verbal and written.
  • Previous experience using Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Previous experience using SAP or other inventory or warehouse management system experience highly preferred
  • Food Manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Candidate must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship



Minimum Requirements and Education:



  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required.
