Position Summary

The NDT Level I E/C Rope Access Technician is responsible for inspecting offshore structures, vessels, pipelines, and their appurtenances to ensure conformance to specifications. Utilizing fixed or preset measuring instruments, the technician conducts detailed examinations of materials and products to identify anomalies, damage, or defects, such as cracks, pits, incomplete welds, holes, dents, and excessive corrosion. Additionally, the technician assesses coating conditions for integrity and compliance. The position demands a commitment to safety, precision, and thorough documentation of inspection findings.

This on-call role requires travel to both offshore and onshore locations, with transportation via vessels and aircraft, demanding adaptability to dynamic and challenging environments.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Work with diving contractors or individually to perform various inspections and surveys of offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines.

* Perform cathodic protection surveys of offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines.

* Utilize rope access techniques to safely access and inspect offshore structures, equipment, and components.

* Use camera, video and written documentation techniques in the inspection and survey of offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines.

* Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, documenting findings and ensuring compliance with project and industry standards.

* Support E/C inspection and maintenance tasks as assigned.

* Use, maintain, and inspect rope access and NDT equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with regulatory standards.

* Adhere to all offshore safety protocols, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and participation in safety drills.

* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient execution of tasks.

* Perform inspection report generation via computer using various software applications.

* Participate in training, certification renewals, and professional development to stay current with industry standards.

* Instruct and train other personnel as needed, and experience permits.


Qualifications

REQUIRED

* Two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Must possess a valid driver's license.

* Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card, valid Passport, Safe Gulf & HUET Water Survival.

DESIRED

* High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is considered OFFSHORE WORK which is characterized as follows.

* Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water.

* Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.

* Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels, and the light is intense/glare.

* Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks.

* Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.

* Work surface is stable, height is elevated.
