This position can be located in either Philadelphia, PA; Long Island City, NY; Wilmington, DE; Beech Grove, IN; Washington, DC; or Los Angeles, CA SUMMARY OF DUTIES: This role will partner with the Highest Designated Officer as outlined within specific collective bargaining agreements and work directly with designated union representatives to ensure the training curricula for apprenticeships is developed/ implemented and will serve as the primary contact for said representatives with respect to the respective apprenticeship program. Further, this role is responsible for designing and implementing candidate sourcing strategies that enable increased volume of qualified, diverse talent hired into the organization. Responsibilities include the development of strong ties with institutions that will serve to advance Amtrak's objective of developing its own pipeline of skilled craft talent, unique to our industry. The Director Apprenticeship Program must have the ability to successfully manage projects and prioritize multiple deadlines and deliverables. The role is suited to a data-driven individual who will be expected to influence consistency across training and apprenticeship recruitment efforts. The candidate will draw on extensive knowledge of technical skills, technology use, operations and administration to build dynamic relationships with union apprenticeship functions, as well as hiring managers. This role will require adaptability to adjust to the evolving landscape of Amtrak business needs while ensuring a unified approach, ensuring the apprenticeship program(s) are delivering with consistency and quality every time. The successful candidate will drive premium processes and standards, as they align to our HR goals, business objectives and company priorities. Acting with a sense of urgency to fill the skilled craft needs of the business, the Director will be a catalyst for change and positive reinforcement to the organization. This role is a leadership opportunity that will involve the coaching and development of multiple direct and indirect reports and leveraging the diverse talents of team members, with an eye toward the creation and maintenance of a world-class apprenticeship training model. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MIMINUM KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities): PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: WORK ENVIRONMENT: COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary/hourly range is $163,000-$211,140. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee's assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee's base salary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and pay programs to recognize and reward our employees, including a short-term incentive bonus based upon factors such as individual and company performance that is commensurate with the level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
