Assists the in general operation of the food production area for patient food. Organizes, prepares, and cooks food products following recipes, standards and menu plans.
- Sets up the coffeeshop and patient food items for service, ensures ingredients/menu items are pulled from storage and oversees preparation. Cooks' food products following recipes and quantity/quality standards. Changes sanitizer solution as needed, always prior to meal service periods.
- Stores all food products, rotates stock, refrigerates and/or freezes and pulls items from storage, as necessary.
- Ensures standards for freshness and quality are adhered.
- Provides replacements for items for all retail areas and patient line, ensures quantity of food being produced meets demand in order to avoid excess/leftovers and waste.
- Maintains a safe and clean work area. Follows all standards set for department re; cleanliness, sanitation, safety and health requirements.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served in the department

- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Physical Requirements Stands for entire shift. Lifts up to 40 pounds daily. Exposed to heat, steam, cuts, burns, equipment, and slippery floors, but risks are diminished when precautions and safety standards are adhered
