POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Position Overview

The Operations Manager provides program and project level oversight and support as set forth in applicable contract agreements. The Operations Manager will report to the Alutiiq Integration & Repair, LLC (AIR) Subsidiary President and will provide management linkage between awarded projects and the senior management team of a defined subsidiary. The Operations Manager may support up to two subsidiaries and may oversee small to medium sized projects and programs, to include occasional Business Development (BD) tasks.

The Operations Manager may be vested with the delegated authority of the Subsidiary President to ensure the proper and timely execution of assigned projects and programs and deliver reasonable profits and a high level of customer satisfaction.

This position requires a seasoned leader with a progressive record of success and increasing responsibilities centered in U.S. Government service-based contracting for both CONUS and OCONUS customers across multiple government agencies. When required, the Operations Manager will perform Business Development duties, which may require CONUS and OCONUS travel and will support Alutiiq Professional Consulting, LLC (APC) Teams in solutioning Requests for Information/Proposal as necessary. This includes maintaining and developing ties with industry and assisting in the development of Small Business, 8(a) Direct and Full/Open opportunities involving a diverse set of external organizations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)



  • Resource and Personnel Management: Oversee the allocation of resources, including personnel and equipment, to ensure the efficient execution of all operations. Manage the workforce under your purview to maximize productivity and meet operational objectives. Provide leadership, performance coaching, and management of Program Managers (PM) and other professionals supporting the execution of our projects.


  • Schedule Development and Adherence: Monitor and adjust schedules as needed to ensure alignment with project goals. When required, assist team in developing comprehensive schedules for all operations, ensuring that timelines are met and that any potential delays are proactively addressed.
  • Area Management: Oversee management of specified areas within AIR portfolio, ensuring that all operations are conducted in accordance with safety regulations, corporate processes, and contract requirements.


  • Customer Interface: When required, serve as a liaison with customers, including other stakeholders, to ensure that operations meet their expectations and contractual obligations. Address any concerns or issues that arise with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain cognizance and responsibility of assigned projects, including approval of cost reports, monthly status reports, waivers, purchase requests, subcontract procurements, participating in production planning activities, and proposal approvals.


  • Supervision: Lead and mentor subordinate supervisors, foremen, and their teams. Promote a culture of safety, excellence, and collaboration, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.


  • Compliance and Continuous Improvement: Ensure that all operations comply with relevant safety and work control regulations. Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Maintain outstanding relationships with all internal interfaces by working with line management to resolve issues such as staffing, personnel issues, budgets, schedules, and technical performance of assigned projects, and work with others in leadership to resolve conflicts and set priorities among projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education: BS or BA; with an associated technical discipline or knowledge of aviation, manufacturing preferred.Experience: A minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience in aviation maintenance and operations management,
  • Program Management, P&L experience, Business Development/Capture Management or a similar field is required.

  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading diverse teams.
