Multimedia Production Specialist

Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks Multimedia Production Specialist to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by compelling multimedia content. This position oversees video production, creates digital videos from concept to completion, fulfills high-quality photography needs, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to produce content for social media, the website, broadcast, and university events. The Multimedia Production Specialist builds strategic partnerships across the University, ensuring brand alignment, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.


Multimedia Production:



  • Plan, produce, and edit professional video content to support Marian University's marketing and branding efforts across multiple channels.
  • Script, shoot, and edit video projects, serving as director, cinematographer, editor, and sound designer as needed.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to develop video series, including defining vision, content, and messaging.
  • Capture high-quality images to fulfill photography needs for marketing projects.
  • Design motion graphics and animations to enhance video content.


Multimedia Strategy:



  • Collaborate with MarCom and University stakeholders to conceptualize and deliver multimedia projects that align with Marian's mission and strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive video strategy to highlight University initiatives, academic programs, and campus life.
  • Determine and produce multimedia projects for distribution across web, social media, television, and other channels, including creating concepts, timelines, and production plans.


Other Duties:



  • Oversee the full production process, ensuring adherence to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards for all video and photography requests.
  • Maintain and organize multimedia equipment and digital assets.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to interns involved in multimedia production.
  • Ensure all multimedia content complies with Marian University's brand standards and Catholic, Franciscan identity.


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in multimedia production, video production, communications, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in multimedia production, including video editing, motion graphics, and storytelling.
  • Expertise with video editing software, experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lighting, audio, and cinematography principles.
  • Experience with video production equipment, including cameras, microphones, and lighting setups.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • A creative mindset with attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Knowledge of Marian University's Catholic and Franciscan mission is preferred but not required.


Essential Functions:
