Human Resource Management & Development (
HRMD) is made up of several departments that serve as advocates for the GW community and consistently provide discreet, valuable and personalized service that is timely and responsive.
HRMD helps GW to maintain a diverse workforce of the highest caliber and to support employees in their roles within the university.
This senior position collaborates closely with GW hiring managers and Human Resources staff to manage the full recruitment and hiring process for identified needs. Key responsibilities include sourcing candidates, coordinating and conducting interviews, preparing hiring documentation, extending offers, initiating and analyzing routine and complex background checks, and facilitating employee onboarding. Additionally, this role may partner with management on executive recruitment and other specialized searches as required. The position may also involve participation in recruiting activities such as job fairs, new hire orientation, and facilitating on-site interview panels.
Reporting to the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Recruitment, the Senior Recruitment Partner will work closely with HR staff, hiring managers and other stakeholders to attract and retain a talented and diverse workforce that supports GW's mission of fostering excellence in teaching and research.
Responsibilities of the Senior Recruitment Partner include the following:
- Full life cycle recruiting and hiring of regular staff and temporary staff: source, screen, interview, select, reference check, background screening, issue offer letter, and on-board
- Provide recruitment strategy guidance and support: may develop advertising strategy, place internal/external ads, identify recruitment sourcing sites
- Participate in a variety of recruitment activities (e.g. job fairs, new hire orientation)
- Identify and recommend applicants to temporary jobs, coordinate interviews for hiring managers, and set-up temporary assignments in banner information systems
- This position will work closely with candidates and hiring managers to ensure successful recruitment from start to finish.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications: |
- Experience with higher education recruiting is preferred
- Creative recruiting techniques, including knowledge of where to look and how to leverage different job boards, search engines, and sourcing tools
- An eye for detail and strong intuition for culture fit while screening candidates
- Desire to solve problems, think creatively, and be flexible
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in agency recruiting or recruiting in the local market
