Overview

#CAES - San Jose is seeking a EHS Intern to learn from and support the world-class Environmental, Health & Safety Team. In this internship, you will work in a highly motivated team to help support EHS projects. This will be a full-time, onsite 3-month summer internship. This role is in San Jose, CA and there is no relocation available for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Perform production floor inspections to evaluate ergonomic concerns and then work with safety manager to implement changes.
  • Review and improve programs related to emergency preparedness, ergonomics, hazardous waste management, and other safety related topics.
  • Help add chemical/safety signs, do chemical cabinet inspections, and other projects to improve safety and recycling at the site.
  • Observe the process and then write procedures for HSE chem tech tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Junior or Senior year pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Studies, Occupational Safety or other Environmental, Health & Safety related fields.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

Salary Range: $30.00- $35.00 hourly. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
