Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Project Manager to join our team for a large-scale fiber to the home deployment project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. This role involves leading construction projects, mentoring project staff, implementing project plans and schedules, ensuring safety and quality control, and delegating work to the project team, contractors, and tradespeople.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection
  • Promotes compliance with HS&E standards and applicable regulations
  • Creates and facilitates the Project Quality Program
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, and building codes
  • Develops and maintains the construction schedule
  • Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provides strong leadership to the construction team
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks
  • Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of the project

Qualifications

  • 10 plus years of experience as a Project Manager in the Telecommunications industry
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
  • Strong negotiation and management skills
  • Ability to plan and manage project schedules
  • Strong understanding of construction costs and budgets
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
  • Ability to build successful teams and promote teamwork
  • Skills in facilitation, mentoring, and conflict resolution
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions

  • Travel up to 40% of the time within market
