Henderson Engineers is seeking a Plumbing Technical Manager to join their Business Sector. The Plumbing Technical Manager is responsible for managing the execution of quality and efficiency strategies and policies related to the Plumbing Engineering work within the sector.

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, science, or technology preferred. Relevant experience in leadership/management position will be considered in lieu of requisite education.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Eight (8) or greater years of relevant experience required..
  • Comprehensive knowledge in discipline of expertise and track record of technical excellence in such field.
  • History of contributing to technically sound teams, as well as ability to motivate and coach others.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the technical needs of the industry and proven track record of quality monitoring, maintenance, and improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to mobilize company technical strategies through project execution.



Preferred Qualifications:



  • A minimum of two (2) years leadership/management experience, preferred.
  • Experienced with High Rise - Multi-Story Building (Hotels, Mixed Use, Condo's, Office Buildings, Hospitals).
  • SoVent Experience Preferred.
  • Commercial Kitchen Design Experience Preferred.
  • Compressed Air Experience Preferred.
  • Knowledge of Equipment Sizing and Structural Coordination.
  • Has experience and is comfortable working directly with clients.
  • CPD. and PE Preferred.



Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role:

Quality& Improvement:





    • Teams with Sector Technical Director to align discipline-specific engineering approaches across sector, maintaining consistency with companywide quality strategies.
    • Proactively monitors technical quality within the sector, responding appropriately to areas of concern or options for improvement.
    • Provides feedback to Sector leadership to inform technical strategies of the sector.
    • Shares ongoing feedback to sector leadership regarding the performance quality of production staff.
    • Manages quality-assurance tools, processes, and databases, ensures judicious application of these resources.
    • Provides quality control for projects.
    • Tracks and reports on progress toward annual goals and priorities of their technical discipline in the Sector.
    • Serves as a technical resource/expert within the sector. Other duties as assigned.





Training & Mentoring:




  • Oversees technical training and mentoring needs of the sector and provides ongoing mentoring to production teams within the sector.
  • Oversees and provides training specific to the newly hired staff within the sector.
  • Identifies, delegates, and executes process improvement strategies and tasks.
  • Manages vendor relations and coordinates training presentations.
  • Teams across Sectors to align and maximize training efforts based on common needs from a company-wide perspective.
  • Participates in interviewing to evaluate technical proficiency of potential talent for the practice.
