*TEKsystems is looking for qualified candidates for a Bankruptcy Accounts Specialist Opportunity with a Fortune 100*
*Company in Vienna, VA! * *Overview:* To support the recovery of bankrupt accounts through negotiations, legal proceedings, fraud detection, and specialized servicing of charged-off mortgage loans. You will be key in managing bankruptcy-related matters, ensuring compliance with laws, and helping protect the organization's financial interests. *Key Responsibilities:* ** Fraud and Abuse Detection:* Analyze accounts involved in bankruptcy to identify any potential fraud or abuse, and determine if litigation is necessary to minimize losses. ** Legal Monitoring and Communication:* Monitor and guide external attorneys handling bankruptcy cases, ensuring proper legal procedures are followed. This includes reviewing legal documents and advising on actions that protect the organization. ** Legal Documentation Management:* Process critical legal notifications and documents (e.g., lawsuits, cease and desist notices) to ensure compliance with bankruptcy laws and minimize litigation risks. ** Bankruptcy Analysis:* Review bankruptcy filings (Chapters 7, 11, and 13) to assess asset recovery opportunities. Analyze documents like Statement of Intent and Chapter 13 plans to determine their impact on the organization. ** Communication and Negotiation:* Act as a liaison between members, attorneys, trustees, and various third parties to resolve bankruptcy issues. Negotiate attorney fees, settlements, reaffirmations, and handling short sale requests. ** Asset Recovery:* Initiate and manage actions for asset recovery, including repossession or other legal means, depending on the bankruptcy type and collateral involved. ** Court Representation:* Represent the organization in court or collaborate with outside legal counsel for proceedings related to bankrupt accounts. ** System Monitoring and Updates:* Track the progress of bankruptcy cases, update systems for accurate reporting, and ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations. ** Member Support:* Assist with escalated member issues, helping resolve disputes and advising on the bankruptcy process. ** General Duties:* Perform other tasks as assigned to support the department's goals. *Key Qualifications:* *Skills & Experience:* * Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, financial transactions, and collections processes. * Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to interpret legal and financial documents and regulations. * Experience interacting with attorneys, courts, and members. * Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and other office software. * Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively under pressure. *Preferred Experience:* * Experience in bankruptcy law or legal proceedings (preferred but not required). * Experience in a contact center or collections environment. *Daily Activities:* ** Phone Support:* Handle inbound calls from members with questions about their bankruptcy cases. Answer inquiries regarding account statuses, payments, and changes in terms. Calls typically last 3-7 minutes, with about 100-120 calls per day. ** Internal System Use:* Use Navy Federal's internal systems to manage accounts and track progress. You'll also handle back-office tasks related to bankruptcy processing. ** Performance Metrics:* Your performance will be assessed based on the accuracy and timeliness of your responses to member inquiries and your adherence to department procedures. *Schedule:* * Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM * No weekends required. *Ideal Candidate:* * Self-starter with a keen eye for detail. * Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment. * Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external partners. * Comfortable handling high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy. *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
