Location: SFO, CA (Remote)

Skills: -Infrastructure as code (Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation) , cloud AWS experience (EBS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront etc.) Docker, AWS EKS and Nginx Ingress , Bash and Python Automation, as Nagios, ELK , Prometheus

Roles and Responsibilities:

Deploying and automating infrastructure & platform services in Public Clouds preferably in AWS Cloud using Infrastructure as Code.

Research and implement new technological subsystems to modernize our infrastructure and work with various groups to maintain our high uptimes and deliverables to various business partners.

Implement automation and industry best practices to run our large-scale, rapidly growing infrastructure with minimum human intervention.

Address production issues, learn to mitigate them quickly, and find ways to prevent them

Implement monitoring, observability and alerting tools such as dashboards and logging systems to understand the health and availability of our infrastructure and applications.

Configure and maintain software components, i.e., operating systems, web servers, application environments through Python and Bash in a highly customized environment.

Participate in our team s follow the sun on-call rotation and improve on-call practices and procedures.

Carefully follows and employs change control procedures.

Provides recommendations on system and process changes as needed

Provides support for customer facing systems and participates in on-call rotation

Participate in weekly releases and OS patching of infrastructure on regular basis to keep it secure.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Developer with 7 to 11 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS services and a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure. This role involves designing implementing and maintaining cloud-based solutions to support our business needs. The work model is hybrid and the shift is day. No travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions using AWS services.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of AWS infrastructure ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Provide expertise in AWS Cloud Formation AWS Virtual Private Network and AWS Backup to optimize cloud operations.
  • Manage and configure Amazon EBS AWS Secret Manager and AWS Key Management Service for secure data storage and access.
  • Utilize AWS EC2 AWS VPC and AWS RDS to build and maintain robust cloud environments.
  • Implement AWS CloudFront AWS Route53 and Amazon S3 for efficient content delivery and domain management.
  • Ensure load balancing and high availability using AWS Elastic Load Balancing.
  • Manage user access and security policies with AWS IAM.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  • Stay updated with the latest AWS technologies and best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud development with a strong focus on AWS services.
  • Demonstrate expertise in AWS Cloud Formation AWS Virtual Private Network and AWS Backup.
  • Have hands-on experience with Amazon EBS AWS Secret Manager and AWS Key Management Service.
  • Show proficiency in AWS EC2 AWS VPC and AWS RDS.
  • Be skilled in using AWS CloudFront AWS Route53 and Amazon S3.
  • Have experience with AWS Elastic Load Balancing and AWS IAM.
  • Nice to have experience in Listing and Finding Services domain.
  • Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Be adaptable to a hybrid work model and a day shift schedule.
  • Show commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Be proactive in identifying and addressing potential issues in cloud infrastructure.
