The Med Surg Unit is a 29 bed unit with an attached 7 bed ICU.Adult patients have a variety of diagnosis. Most patients are medical cases. We also see surgical cases including bariatric, total joint, abdominal, podiatry, and more. About Zeeland HospitalSince 1921, we have delivered care that's advanced, yet makes you feel at home. Scope of workDelivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes. QualificationsAssociates in Nursing Required Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required upon hire AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support within 180 days Specialty Certification preferred
