SUMMARY

The Applications Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and executing analysis activities related to Senior's products. This includes generating a DFMEA, creating a DVP&R, and managing the execution of the plan by key dates within the APQP process. The individual in this role needs to ensure products meet customer specifications for 'fit, form, and function' while being cost competitive and safe.

KEY RESULTS AREAS



  1. Documentation - Permanent areas of contribution to company's systesm and knowledge.

    • Generate analysis reports for project teams.
    • Write and maintain engineering specifications and work instructions.
    • Process travelers, process flow, and QCP and any other construction methods used during POC and prototype builds


  2. Business Support

    • Participate in APQP teams directly involved in phases 1 and 2 where designs are in conceptual and prototype phases.
    • Additional responsibilities describe the expectation on these work elements for this key result area.


  3. Customer Support

    • Work closely with customer engineering teams, including site visits for meetings with sales and the business unit persons.


  4. NPD Liaison

    • Transfer newly introduced products from the NPD to the applications team with the specific focus on design for new construction methods (e.g. radial fin EGR coolers).




EDUCATION



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; Mechanical engineering preferred.


EXPERIENCE



  • About 2+ years of experience in similar roles.

  1. Technical skills

    1. CAD modeling
    2. Blueprint reading: GD&T/Tolerance stack-up
    3. Prototype manufacturing, report writing, and presentation skills
    4. ECN, deviation requests, SREA, feasibility commitment, DFMEA/DVP&R, CAE (CFD & FEA)

WORKING CONDITIONS



  1. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Some kneeling or reaching may be required.
  2. Schedule: Standard business hours, with occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance or emergency response.



Base Salary $61,500 - $91,500

Salary ranges are determined by role and level, and within the range individual pay is determined by additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in this job posting reflect the base salary only, and do not include benefits.
