The Corporate Accounting Project Manager will oversee the development and implementation of accounting related projects and assist with the accounting integration of acquired companies into the parent organization. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure that all aspects of the project are executed timely, smoothly and efficiently, aligning with the strategic goals of the organization.

LOCATION: Bismarck, ND or in a geographic location near a Knife River location.

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 1-3 years in a supervisory or project management role.
  • Knowledge of financial software and reporting systems.


Preferred Requirements:



  • Five or more years experience in the construction materials and construction services industry.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle Business Intelligence software.
  • Knowledge of construction industry software and point-of-sale systems.
  • Experience in mergers and acquisition activities.




      Duties and/or Responsibilities:



      • Lead or participate in accounting related projects, including system upgrades, implementations and integrations.
      • Facilitate and assist on standardization of accounting data and processes
      • Identify and implement process improvements in financial reporting and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
      • Automate existing manual reporting process and optimize system usage
      • Assist with merger and acquisition related integrations which includes:

        • Assist with accounting related data integrations.
        • Facilitate third-party valuation data requests
        • Prepare purchase accounting workpapers
        • Coordinate training for accounting related systems and processes






          1. Determine if new tools are necessary to improve processes; research and understand potential opportunities for more efficient and effective reporting.
          2. Provide training to accounting team members and end-users on financial systems and reporting tools.
          3. Lead or participate in the development of user procedures and training documents.
          4. Frequent travel may be required.
          5. Perform other duties as assigned.

          • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
          • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
          • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
          • Ability to provide training to others and create effective presentations in PowerPoint.
          • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
          • Strong project management and organizational skills.
          • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
          • Proven experience with advanced Excel functions.
          • Familiarity with data visualization software (Power BI).
          • Proven experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and job specific technologies.
