Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Supervisor to lead and coordinate the daily operations of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:



  • Supervise and oversee the daily activities and performance of team members.
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of bank transactions and provide timely updates to upper management.
  • Audit posted financial transactions and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Assign tasks, ensuring responsibilities and deadlines are met.
  • Identify priorities and establish goals aligned with daily business needs.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews with direct reports, developing and implementing performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Assist with the hiring process and provide training for new hires.
  • Reconcile daily transactions and perform ad hoc reconciliations as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal functions and external parties to streamline processes and resolve issues.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and address challenges by offering practical solutions.
  • Manage month and year-end closing procedures.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong math skills, including a solid understanding of debits and credits.
  • Experience managing a team of at least 2 staff members.
  • Background in the mortgage or insurance industries are highly valued but not required.
  • Training and development experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
