Description Position Title: Associate Engineer SE CE ARCH-BES Position Location: 10405 Technology Terrace, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34211 Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Essential Job Functions Work with licensed professionals in the design, assessment, and/or construction of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings Provides technical expertise within the field of engineering for projects involving assessments, upgrades, maintenance, and restoration of the built environment, as well as components of design related to new construction. Focus emphasis on repair of damage from fire, wind and impacts to a mix of residential, multi-family and commercial projects. Coordinate adaptive reuse projects of older buildings and enhancements to existing facilities to accommodate changes in use and implementation of equipment and machinery. Perform assignments within the field of civil/structural engineering based upon a scope of work and budget prepared by the direct supervisor and agreed upon by the client in advance of performing the work. Manage multiple projects. Coordinates with consultants from other practice areas to produce client reports in timely manner. Perform calculations consistent with technical practice area. Research building codes and standards (historical and current). Review/research product submittals, samples, mock-ups, testing reports, data sheets, and warranties. Perform field assessments including working from ladders, lifts, scaffolds, confined spaces, rooftops, and mechanical, electrical, and fire protection equipment rooms Education and Experience Requirements Master's in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering or related degree or foreign degree equivalent plus 1 year of work experience in structural design in any occupation where the required experience is gained. Special Skills or Other Requirements Telecommuting is permitted, but applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance. Work experience must include: Building Information Modeling software AutoCAD to produced repair drawings. Code Compliant Load calculations and structural analysis. Damage assessment of concrete structures and concrete repair design. Damage assessment of Wood frame structures and wood frame repair design. Producing repair project specifications. Construction management and field supervision. Travel Requirements This position requires up to 25% domestic travel.
