Description of primary duties and responsibilities:
Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit:

The Department of Educational Leadership and School Administration is housed within the College of Education. The principal purpose of the Department of Educational Leadership and School Administration is to provide programs designed to prepare PK-12 school executives, higher education administrators, and education supervisors as facilitators of learning at all levels in the nation's schools. School administration programs are offered at the master's and doctoral (Ed.D.) levels.

Primary Purpose of the Position:

Fayetteville State University College of Education is seeking applicants with credentials in
Educational Leadership and School Administration for a tenure-track position. The purpose of the position is to enhance student learning in the following areas: societal and cultural influences of schooling, teaching and learning process, organizational theory, leadership and management, policy studies and politics of education, and ethical dimensions of schooling.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Earned doctorate in educational leadership or a related Education field from an accredited university. A minimum of three years of successful teaching in higher education is required. The incumbent faculty member will teach courses at the graduate level(s) in both the Ed.D and MSA Programs, supervise clinical experience candidates, and other related educational courses. The candidate will advise graduate students and engage in departmental activities/committees as the Dean and the department Chair prescribes.
  2. The incumbent will further be expected to play an active role in the maintenance of academic standards; show evidence and knowledge of and the ability to use educational technology and tools, as well as digital, virtual, and online teaching and learning; show evidence of scholarly activity; and display a commitment to public higher education.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years of Higher Education teaching experience.
  • Qualified to teach graduate courses curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in curriculum and instruction
  • Evidence of collaboration with local school systems, community agencies, and other professionals
  • Evidence of collaboration with diverse populations
  • Evidence of proficient application/use of current technological tools.
  • Experience with data-driven instructional decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Evidence of scholarly activities (i.e., Presentations, newsletters, journals).
