Analyzer Maintenance Technician Team Lead Job

JOB SUMMARY

This position is in the Maintenance Department and reports directly to the IE & A Maintenance Manager.

The Analyzer Team Lead will supervise and assist the in house and contractor Analyzer Technicians and interface with the appropriate manufacturing groups to ensure the highest level of safety, productivity, work quality and reliability for all maintenance and project related work at Arkema CLAK.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the daily activities of the Analyzer Technicians; ensure all maintenance duties and PMs are completed timely, accurately and in accordance with all defined policies and procedures. - 20%
  • Oversee and perform troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and new installation tasks for analyzer related work assigned according to daily/weekly maintenance schedule. - 15%
  • As a working team lead, perform the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of an analyzer maintenance technician as necessary to ensure optimum staffing. - 15%
  • Ensure daily validations and cylinder gas audits on CEMS and HRVOC environmental analyzers are performed in accordance with state environmental rules and regulations. Maintain equipment records and update drawings as necessary. - 15%
  • Establish effective preventative and predictive monitoring and maintenance techniques to identify and define abnormal operating conditions. Shall maintain documentation for all failed calibrations and actions taken to correct issues. - 10%
  • Assist with development of analyzer technicians, including training, progression plans, provides contractor oversight. - 15%

Other Duties as Assigned (10%):

  • Ensure repair reports are properly documented and filed in the appropriate location.
  • Interface with the reliability department as necessary to support improvement items.
  • Attend meetings (safety, maintenance planning, reliability, contractor management, and production)
  • Provide weekly updates on jobs lasting more than one week
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and Incident Investigations
  • Evaluate analyzer problems when they arise and find effective solutions
  • Attend monthly meetings with the operations and analyzer groups to discuss job priority.

  • Maintenance workforce availability and capabilities
  • Follow and adhere to the maintenance work process and repair procedures
  • Must adhere to the Arkema Electrical Safe Work Practices Policy and Guidelines for the CLO site
  • Must be available to work extended hours, weekends, holidays and after hour
  • Perform elevated work on scaffolding and aerial lifts (JLG, scissor lifts)
  • Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements
  • Participates in HES activities provided by site management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety, SafeStart, etc.)
  • Supports and promotes the reporting of all health, safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ANS EDUCATION REQUIRED

Minimum Years of Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years field maintenance experience with analyzers

Education and Area of Focus

  • High school diploma
  • Analyzer/Instrument technical degree / Certifications preferred.

Competencies / Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Computer skills required.
  • Familiarization with NEC and NFPA 70E
  • Knowledgeable in all types of industrial instrumentation and process control loop systems
  • Knowledgeable of process analyzers, including their application, design, communication protocols, wiring methods, calibration, and repair. Knowledgeable in federal regulations for monitoring emissions and record keeping.
  • Knowledgeable of on-line process analyzers such as gas chromatograph, Oxygen, Carbon Monoxide, Nitric Oxide, LEL, Moisture and sample system operations.
  • Demonstrated learning and development skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of inline process and environmental analyzers and their functions.
  • Skilled in interpreting electrical diagrams/schematics and loop drawings.
  • Skilled in Analyzer terminologies and maintenance processes.
