D&S Manufacturing is looking to expand their Maintenance Department at Black River Falls, WI.

2nd Shift/Full-Time: Monday through Thursday - 3:15 pm to 1:15 am
With experience, make up to $33.84 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential for working 2nd shift.

Primary Responsibilities

Maintenance B - Performs general maintenance involving mechanics, carpentry, plumbing and electrical on buildings, small machinery, heating, plumbing and vehicles.

Maintenance A - Performs a wide variety of highly skilled electrical and machine repairs and installation. Maintains structures, electrical systems, heating, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics, etc.

Essential Functions

Maintenance B


  • Repair and replace parts on mechanical equipment involved in fabrication/machine shop environment.
  • Assists with installation of machinery and building wiring.
  • Repair building, construct bins, shop benches, partitions, make crates, repair and replace electrical switches and small motor controls, replace fuses and lighting equipment, put in drop cords, etc.
  • Run basic machinery such as saws, presses, welders, etc., necessary to perform repairs.
  • Use basic electrical test equipment.
  • Operate and maintain heating system.
  • Work is subject to process checks and final inspection.


Maintenance A


  • Troubleshoots and repairs control circuitry, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Works from schematic and ladder diagrams involved in NC and CNC equipment.
  • Moves and installs machine shop/fabrication equipment. Install switches, controls and other electronic devices incidental to the installation.
  • Proficiently uses electrical measuring equipment to diagnose machine failures.
  • Diagnose and remedy troubles, repair and replace equipment and apparatus and communicates the current status of equipment to the Production Manager and appropriate department supervisor.
  • Work is subject to final inspection and check by supervisor.


Minimum Physical Requirements


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Desired Education:

Maintenance B - One-year technical college certificate in related field or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Maintenance A - Requires an electrical or mechanical journeyman license or associate's degree from technical college in related field; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Job Experience

Maintenance B


  • Experience which demonstrates a basic knowledge of various trade fundamentals sufficient to deal with general repairs, i.e., mechanics, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Experience or training which demonstrates basic knowledge of motor control circuits, single phase and 3-phase electrical systems.
  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Experience with basic welding.


Maintenance A

  • Work experience or training which demonstrates advanced knowledge of single and 3-phase electrical systems, AC and DC circuits and their relationship with each other
  • Basic welding and machine shop skills necessary to repair or fabricate repairs.
