24144BR Roofing Technical Specialist Sideburn Support Center Description Performs responsible field inspection of all aspects of school roofing installation, replacement, and maintenance work; ensures compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes; leads and performs skilled journey-level work required to install, maintain, detect leaks, and repair roofs and related roofing work. Qualifications Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. Four (4) years of experience in the commercial roofing trade, three (3) years of which shall have been in a supervisory or lead role involving review, inspection, and project modification activities. Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record. May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis. Knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, and procedures used in the construction, modification, or maintenance of roofing systems of buildings, schools, and related structures. Knowledge of the general construction field and one or more of the trades involved in the building construction projects. Knowledge of related drawings, general construction surveying, and cost estimating. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, applicable building codes, and regulations, and recognize deviations from such requirements. Ability to interface effectively with contractors, architects, craftsmen, and the general public. Ability to maintain accurate records and to prepare complete and concise written reports.
