The Construction & Manufacturing Team supports all of Haskell's delivery groups across the company and the projects throughout the United States. The Construction & Manufacturing Team is responsible for providing the field management personnel, from the craft worker to the Project Superintendent. The Construction & Manufacturing Team also provides the team member with logistical support; including but not limited to establishing per diem rates, company trucks for superintendents, and the coordination of arrival for team members as needed on the project. The Construction & Manufacturing Team provides continual training for our team members to support their development from entry-level craft workers, via in-house/online courses, to local jurisdiction apprenticeship programs. Haskell assists with working your way up through the ranks, you'll find new ways to use both your mind and your hands to get the job done.

The Director of Operations is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the business unit, ensuring operational excellence, profitability, and client satisfaction. This role provides strategic oversight and direction for production, project management, quality assurance, and resource allocation. The Director of Operations is also tasked with developing and maintaining client relationships, fostering team development, and aligning the business unit's goals with the broader organizational strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

    Review cost reports and prepare monthly contract schedules to ensure financial health and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of requisitions for payment and manage accounts receivable, resolving disputes or delinquencies effectively.
  • Approve production schedules to meet client delivery dates and operational efficiency.
  • Direct the implementation of quality control procedures to ensure materials and services meet required standards.
  • Maintain and enhance client relationships by responding promptly to requests and concerns.
  • Review and approve quotations for new sales to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
  • Execute client purchase orders and subcontracts following project manager verification of price and terms.
  • Oversee the preparation and execution of purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Direct and oversee the work of estimators, project managers, and production/fabrication teams.
  • Identify and develop personnel to optimize supervisory and management responsibilities within the business unit.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to establish and achieve strategic goals for the business unit.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.
  • Supervises others.

Education & Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of operational leadership experience, preferably in construction, fabrication, or a related industry.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, and Certifications:

  • Demonstrated exceptional internal customer relationship, team collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust
  • Knowledge of Haskell project delivery methodologies, functional units, and business processes.
  • Expertise in managing resources, including budgets, schedules, people and materials in an environment of multiple, competing demands.
  • Excellent organizational, supervisory communication, customer relations, collaboration and analytical skills.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment, and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
