We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Test Engineer I.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The Test Engineer I (TE1) as part of the Integration and Test team on the Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) program will focus on executing predefined tasks, learning the basics of testing methodologies, and supporting senior team members in testing efforts.



  • Identify, analyze, and document basic issues with program functionality, output, or content.
  • Execute test cases and document results in bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
  • Assist in testing system modifications in preparation for implementation.
  • Install, maintain, or use software testing tools under supervision.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting support for staff and users.
  • Maintain records of daily transactions, problems, and remedial actions taken.
  • Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems under guidance.
  • Read technical manuals and attend training sessions to enhance knowledge of testing tools and processes.


ABOUT YOU:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Basic understanding of testing principles and methodologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain CompTIA Security Plus, Linux Plus and Computing Environment Certifications for Windows.
  • Holds or able to obtain a minimum DoD Secret security clearance, Top Secret preferred.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Domestic and International travel to Military Installations in support of JLCCTC Program activities is required.


Optional Desired Certificates:



  • CompTIA Security+.
  • CompTIA Linux+.
  • VMware Certifications.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS:



  • Knowledge of operating systems and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Use of logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.


  • Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to the job role.
