The senior information security analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding Salem Health's information systems by analyzing and resolving complex security issues, developing strategic plans, and promoting a culture of security awareness. This position requires a deep understanding of information security principles, technologies, and industry standards to effectively advise and guide the organization. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned security professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in leading security initiatives and mentoring team members to drive security excellence across the organization.

What you'll do

  • Analyzes and troubleshoots complex information security problems and incidents to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Assists with monitoring information security issues and stays up-to-date on emerging threats and technologies.
  • Provides expert advice on security best practices to guide the organization.
  • Oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of security and user access controls.
  • Identifies areas within Salem Health's information systems environment requiring improvements to information security.
  • Leads the development of plans to address security issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Develops and reports security analysis results using multiple tools and techniques.
  • Assists in defining and developing Information Security Policies and Processes aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Promotes adherence to Information Security Policies and Procedures throughout the organization.
  • Contributes to the development of long-term architectural strategies for information security.
  • Produces knowledge articles, architecture documents, and strategic plans to guide the technical direction of the department.
  • Ensures documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and utilized effectively by team members.
  • Holds others accountable for utilizing and maintaining documentation within their content area.
  • Coordinates and plans strategic initiatives that meet customer needs, leveraging industry standards and best practices.
  • Assists managers and staff in producing training and career development plans for team members.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred, OR eight years related work experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience where each year of education equates to two years of experience (four years of experience will be substituted for an associate's degree and eight years of experience will be substituted for a bachelor's degree).
  • Minimum of five years of IT or related operational experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience within a given technology or knowledge field.
  • Industry standard certifications within the given content area of expertise to be obtained within one year of hire: CompTIA Security+ certification (or equivalent).
