The Johnson County District Attorney's office is looking to fill an Investigation Specialist position within our office.

Job Description

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Intakes and processes consumer complaints received from consumers and other agencies;
  • Works closely with the Assistant District Attorney and investigators in the disposition of consumer complaints received;
  • Intakes and processes worthless check reports;
  • Answers phones, refers calls and customers; greets customers and gives standard information in response to phone, email, or in-person inquiries.
  • Creates and maintains files both public and confidential; maintains spreadsheets for the tracking of consumer complaints, worthless check cases and phone calls; distributes reports and performs data entry into systems; types form letters, labels, mail merges, and correspondence; proofreads information; schedules appointments, meetings, and other functions.
  • Assists customers with completing routine forms when appropriate; collects forms and any supporting documents, reviews for accuracy and completeness; copies, collates, and routes forms to appropriate locations or staff.
  • Calculates and collects fees for payment; resolves a variety of basic customer complaints, problems, and billing disputes; completes preliminary audit of cash and checks collected.


Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent is required. May require KS/MO driver's license, depending on department or agency.

Preferred Job Requirements:

One year of customer service; one year of cashiering or money handling experience are preferred.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

Within sixty (60) days of hire, employees (select DHE and EMS positions) must produce proof of immunization, proof of immunity, proof that immunization is medically contraindicated, submit a written objection to immunization based upon a sincerely held religious belief, or receive vaccination for the following: Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR); Tetanus Diphtheria and Acellular Pertussis (TDAP); and Varicella (Chickenpox).

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
