Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Coordinator to support their team on a part-time, onsite basis. This role involves managing payroll processing, assisting with employee benefits, and providing high-level customer service to both employees and management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll, employee benefits, and troubleshooting system issues, along with the interpersonal skills to work closely with a diverse group of employees. Key Responsibilities: Process payroll accurately and on time using a payroll-specific system (Ceridian preferred) Assist with employee benefits, including overseeing open enrollment and ensuring employees understand their benefits options Provide clear and concise communication with employees regarding payroll and benefits inquiries Meet with new employees to review basic benefits presentations, direct deposit setup, and provide a tour of the Ceridian payroll system Offer guidance and support for employees with payroll-related issues, including troubleshooting and finding solutions (via online research, contacting brokers, etc.) Help employees navigate payroll and benefits systems, providing training and follow-up support with screenshots and step-by-step instructions Send reminders and follow up on payroll/benefits tasks when necessary, maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor Collaborate effectively with other team members and departments to ensure seamless payroll and benefits operations Required Skills & Qualifications: 4-5+ years of payroll experience, particularly in using a payroll-specific system (Ceridian experience is a plus) Strong understanding of employee benefits, including the open enrollment process Exceptional interpersonal skills with a "servant heart," able to answer employee questions and resolve issues efficiently Excellent research and analytical skills, particularly when troubleshooting system or benefit-related challenges Strong ability to communicate complex information clearly and gently, especially with employees who may have limited English proficiency Comfortable working with a diverse office environment, with the ability to navigate different accents and communication styles Strong business acumen and professionalism, with the ability to interact confidently in an office environment directly next to the CFO No degree or certifications required Preferred Qualifications: Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required Vaco values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
