Your missions : Manager/Sr. Manager of Public Affairs and Market Access, North America Location: Washington DC Area The Manager/Sr. Manager of Public Affairs and Market Access will be responsible for managing the company's external relations and communications with various stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and the public. This role is crucial in shaping and communicating the company's policies, positions, and contributions to the animal health sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public affairs, excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of the animal health industry, and an ability to be equally effective before both federal-government agencies and local or customer-related stakeholders. Responsibilities and Key Duties: Government Relations:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key government officials, regulatory agencies, and policymakers in North America at both federal and state/province levels, with primary concentration in the US market.
- Support Senior Management and their interactions with key political or governmental stakeholders
- Build and preserve the company's reputation and credibility before government entities and other key stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that impact the animal health industry.
- Advocate for the company's interests in policy discussions and provide input on regulatory submissions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage and build effective alliances with customers, industry associations, advocacy groups, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, public forums, and meetings.
- Coordinate and participate in public consultations and hearings.
Public Communications:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to convey the company's positions on issues, policies, and industry trends.
- Prepare and distribute press releases, position papers, and other public statements.
- Manage media relations and serve as a spokesperson for the company when necessary.
Internal Collaboration:
- Ensure coherence of North American positions on key issues with company's global advocacy, communication and other corporate strategies.
- Provide guidance and training to company executives and employees on public affairs and communication matters.
- Contribute to the definition of strategic public-policy priorities, articulation of public affairs strategies, execution of advocacy campaigns.
Crisis Communication:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans and strategies for issues at national/global level
- Act as a spokesperson during crisis situations and manage communications across the organization to mitigate risk.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with relevant national government agencies

- Advanced understanding of the federal government's institutions overseeing animal health and agriculture, as well as human health.
Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's Degree in veterinary, agronomy, economics, public affairs, political science, law. Advanced Degree in an area related to the company's activities is preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in government affairs, public policy development, political advocacy.
- Experience in mid-size to large companies focusing on animal health, agriculture or life sciences preferred; candidates from industry associations or government organizations, with little or no previous experience in complex corporate settings, may be considered depending on experience or specialization specificity.
- The ideal candidate will have carried out meaningful advocacy, lobbying and political-engagement work before federal-government institutions and legislators.
- Proven ability to be equally effective and comfortable with advocacy efforts at both the federal-agency or legislative levels and with local organizations or stakeholders.
- Previous employment with a relevant government agency could count in favor of the successful candidate.
- Previous advocacy activity in state capitals is desirable.
- Extensive experience in advocacy through trade associations and in the articulation of priorities with peer companies.
- Proven experience in crisis management is desirable.

- This position typically works in an office environment and as such the requirements are:
