Ledcor Mining is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of mobile equipment maintenance, ensuring that standards, policies, and procedures are developed and implemented. You will also be accountable for achieving equipment performance targets and work management KPIs within the constraints of the maintenance budget. This includes quality control, safety, and the delegation of work to field staff, contractors, and tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Travel is required for this position

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety performance of the Maintenance Department
  • Meet or exceed established KPIs (leading and lagging indicators)
  • Deploy key initiatives and communicate relevant messages to all maintenance crews at the site
  • Promote, deploy, and comply with all Safety & Health and Environmental policies, standards, procedures, and regulations across Ledcor and Maintenance
  • Spend significant time in the field (40-60% of working time) providing "visible felt leadership" and interacting with the workforce
  • Provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring the provision of safe systems of work, safe work procedures, adequate training and instruction, and competent supervision
  • Develop systems and foster collaboration to ensure the department meets monthly targets
  • Accountable for Maintenance cost performance, including monthly forecast and variance analysis
  • Review competencies, Scopes of Work, and Schedules of Rates for all Contractors ensuring costs are managed and controlled while complying with Contractor Controls Policies and Procedures

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience at a Maintenance General Foreman level or higher in heavy industry
  • 2+ years of experience in compiling and/or managing maintenance budgets
  • 2+ years of experience in managing the maintenance scheduling and workflow function
  • Experience with Zero-Based Budgeting systems and processes
  • Experience managing or supervising an equipment reliability program
  • Strong safety record and the ability to work with a variety of individuals
  • Ability to adapt information and communication style to the audience
  • Skilled at promoting teamwork to establish consensus among team and stakeholders
  • Capable of identifying key issues and patterns in moderately complex situations and spotting new, less obvious solutions
  • Familiar with Mining/Heavy Civil/Infrastructure construction methodology and practices

Work Conditions:

  • This position does require travel up to 60% of the time
  • This is a site-based position
