Department Information The Georgia Tech Athletic Associate (GTAA) sponsors varsity intercollegiate athletics competition in 17 NCAA Division I sports for the Georgia Institute of Technology. We are a proud member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Job Summary
Provide strategic leadership and direction of the men's basketball program, with particular oversight of operations and staff and player management as assigned by the Executive Deputy AD/Chief Operating Officer and the Executive Associate AD/Player Management. Provide guidance and support related to strategic planning, scheduling, operations and administration of the program. This position will interact on a regular basis with: athletics executives, basketball coaches, external partners, player agents, and student-athletes. This position typically will advise: Executive Associate AD/Player Management, Men's Basketball Head Coach, assistant coaches, and other sport program personnel. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 - Actively participate as a strategic partner to the Men's Basketball Head Coach in conjunction with the sport administrator and the Executive Associate AD/Player Management.
Job Duty 2 - Provide operational support and strategic guidance to the Men's Basketball Head Coach as it relates to the operational management of the men's basketball program and ensure that program operations are structured efficiently and effectively.
Job Duty 3 - Plan and organize activities of assigned staff. Responsible for onboarding and offboarding of staff and student-athletes.
Job Duty 4 - Develop budget and monitor expenses associated with assigned sport operations.
Job Duty 5 - Coordinate the day-to-day operations of Georgia Tech Athletics' player management process for men's basketball by working closely with coaches and administrators to recruit, negotiate with, sign and retain prospective and current Georgia Tech men's basketball student-athletes. Coordinate with the administration on third-party sponsorship and partnership activations with Georgia Tech Athletics.
Job Duty 6 - Maintain knowledge of conference and national best practices, strategies, and standards related to men's basketball player management and program administration, ensuring that Georgia Tech Athletics is favorably positioned to recruit competitively and operate efficiently and effectively.
Job Duty 7 - Coordinate the evaluation process with the Men's Basketball Head Coach, assistant coaches, and other sport program personnel relating to the strategic assessment of student-athlete talent and providing recommendations and reports for contract review and decision-making.
Job Duty 8 - Audit and evaluate the annual basketball player management investment and provide reports to the Executive Associate AD/Player Management on the return on investment. Job Duty 9 - Provide oversight and direct support with assigned strategic projects for GT Athletics.
Job Duty 10 - Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience Eight or more years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications Master's Degree.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE This job requires advanced knowledge of college athletics administration, college basketball program operations, and/or player personnel management.
SKILLS This job requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills; exceptional skills in communication, strategic planning, organization, decision-making, facilitating change, guiding and developing staff, and conflict management.
