The Impact You'll Make

At Lam, as a Product Engineer, you thrive in high-stakes, dynamic environment, driving product and supplier development at the forefront of the semiconductor equipment industry. Collaborating closely with internal teams and suppliers to develop the weldment of gas lines, frames, and sheet metal commodities. You will provide real-time problem-solving to the supplier challenges to enhance our products. Your passion for engaging with suppliers and engineering drives progress in our industry, tackling the once unsolvable.

In this role, you will directly contribute to Supplier Engineering Technology.

There is flexibility for this role to be at the Fremont, CA site.

What You'll Do
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to guide the development of suppliers, manufacturing of products, resolve manufacturing issues, and improve supplier quality.
  • On-site support of suppliers to qualify manufacturing processes, audit supplier quality systems, and ensure ERP and MES systems are robust and have effective control manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a high degree of supplierengagement including face-to-face and international travel to suppliersites supporting near term product releases and solve supplierissues.
Who We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering; or equivalent years of experience.
  • Twelve (12) years of experiencein a similar role
  • Experience designing, specifying, building, operating, and/or maintaining semiconductor, automotive, aerospace, or related hardware, tools, and equipment.
  • Experience in quality management, auditing, 8D methodology, continuous improvement, and Six Sigma.
  • Experience in supplier qualification and development.
  • Experience in various manufacturing processes needed to fabricate weldment gas lines, frames, and sheet metal parts in the various environments, such as cleanrooms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and experimental design skills.
  • Demonstrated creative thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional clear communication and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time.

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
