Job Summary: The Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education Department is looking for a motivated individual to supervise special education teacher candidates in their practicum placements. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and mentorship, excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to provide constructive feedback. Responsibilities: Contributes to the development, implementation, administration, coordination, and evaluation for one or more academic programs to ensure effectiveness in meeting departmental and student development goals and initiatives. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment. 30% Utilizes independent judgement regarding development, implementation, promotion, and evaluation for one or more academic programs, initiatives, or events 10% Identifies program, needs, contributes to the development of unit workflows, schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, events, and interviews 10% Coordinates program components and evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement 30% May supervise the day to day activities of one or more academic programs and resolves issues exercising discretion to meet unit goals. 20% Supervise and mentor practicum students, providing guidance and support throughout their placement, and collaborate with instructors teaching seminar courses Institutional Statement on Diversity: Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. Current teaching license in K-12 special education required. Preferred 3 or more years and experience with teacher leadership and/or coaching as well as master's degree in special education or related field. Work Type: Full or Part Time: 50% - 100% Appointment Type, Duration: Terminal, 3 month appointment.
