The Nurse Manager organizes and directs the clinical activities of a specified department(s) and/or function(s); coordinates staff to insure that effective clinical services are provided, and quality standards are met. Staffing consists of registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomists and other clinical technicians. Responsible for efficient and consistent management of clinical operations. Works with the Clinical Support Services Department in the development and updating of operational protocols, insures compliance with organizational policy and procedures. May be responsible for preparation of data, and information and/or reports through use of computer applications. Job Relationships: Reports directly to either the facility Site Director/Manager and in some cases, Director of Nursing Operations and/or VP of CSS. The Nurse Manager may have frequent interactions with members of the Clinical Support Services Department on various topics requiring clinical expertise in various areas of responsibility. Has regular interaction with group medical director, physicians, subordinate employees, patients, health plans and peers. Supervisory Responsibilities: Where the oversight of staff is required: Monitor and evaluate employee job performance in a timely fashion; working knowledge of applicable state and federal labor laws which impact employee vacation time, sick time, FMLA and OT compensation. Assure and implement quality medical management and cost containment health services to patients. The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
