Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and diagnostic mammography exams and produce quality images.
  • Perform Quality Control (QC) functions related to Mammography and Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DEXA)
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of Mammographic, Radiographic, and other related equipment
  • Calculate appropriate exposure factors and evaluate images for diagnostic quality
  • Assist in the maintenance and compilation of statistical data
  • Obtain patient history, explain procedures, and position patients accurately to ensure safety and comfort during the scan
  • Assist Radiologists and other healthcare practitioners with invasive procedures

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program in a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Complete a 40-hour specialized Mammography course and be eligible for the Mammography registry.
  • Advanced certification in Mammography is required within one year of hire.
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Experience in 3D Mammography
  • One year of Mammography experience
