Student Success and Well-Being - Career Services

Career Services (CS) provides comprehensive career services and programs to assist a diverse student population in developing, evaluating, and effectively initiating and implementing career, education, and employment decisions and plans through collaborative internal partnerships with UCF administrators, faculty, and staff, as well as effective external partnerships with key employers.

The Opportunity:

The UCF Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) is a program housed within Student Success and Well-Being Career Services and is currently accepting applications for a Career Services Coordinator. This position directly supports the recruiting and marketing efforts for CWEP. For over 40 years UCF and Lockheed Martin have partnered to offer this program that allows undergraduate and graduate students to gain real-world work skills and abilities relevant to their academic and career goals. CWEP is a unique, year-round paid opportunity to have hands-on learning experiences.

This position/classification may be moved at management's discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Development and Enrollment Services or their designee.

This is a Contract and Grant (C&G) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.

Responsibilities:



  • Provides program support and assistance for the UCF Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program (CWEP) by reviewing hiring requisition requests, sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, communicating job offers with students and managing applicant tracking system use and HR processing for the CWEP Program.

  • Coordinate and process orientation and on-boarding requirements for the Lockheed Martin College Work Experience Program.

  • Verify and notarize required paperwork.

  • Verify background checks and drug test results and ensure the accurate on boarding of all new UCF CWEP students.

  • Assist students with time charging.

  • Serve as CWEP payroll timekeeper, submit, and manage CWEP requisitions in Workday, contract policy clarification, internal transfers, and other issues.

  • Create and maintain program records including individual student files for the CWEP participant, pay rates, orientation documents, new hire check list, and other pertinent information.

  • Update and maintain active CWEP student list.

  • Ensure consistency between records kept both UCF and Lockheed Martin systems.

  • Build and maintain relationships across campus with on-campus organizations, as well as build relationships with CWEP alumni, to promote the program.

  • Conduct interviews with current and former CWEPs to garner feedback on the program as well as gauge interest on who would be interested in participating in recruiting events.

  • Serve as a main point of contact in Career Services for prospective CWEP students.

  • Meet with students and other visitors to the UCF on-campus office.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for CWEP-related calls and emails.

  • Provide students, faculty, and the public with information regarding programs, resources and services.

  • Marketing and promoting the CWEP program through social media profiles and collaborating with the Career Services team with other online opportunities.

  • Present virtually or in-person for classroom presentations and events as a guest speaker. Create and distribute marketing materials including flyers and digital signage.

  • Assist with CWEP and Career Services events.

  • Participate in campus outreach opportunities to promote growth, expansion, and the culture of the CWEP program.




Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in Higher Education (can include OPS or other professional experience) and/or corporate recruiting.

  • Proven customer service skills, particularly in a fast-paced environment with varied groups (student, staff, faculty, employers.)

  • Proven communication and customer service skills with a focus on phone calls and email.

  • Experience working with client management systems, applicant tracking systems or other large databases.

  • Organization skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, plan and meet deadlines.

  • Experience working independently, managing/supervising staff, and working with self-directed teams.

  • Proven aptitude for developing and maintaining relationships, strong team member skills.
