Overview

Responsible for tactical procurement activities including managing purchasing processes, reporting and systems to support projects and operations teams. Leads and manages procurement personnel related to assigned projects and programs. Acts as a liaison between leadership team, internal customers, and suppliers to meet or exceed expectations for quality, quantity, price, delivery, and innovation. Follows, develops, improves, and maintains processes and systems utilized by the company to perform procurement related tasks and functions

Location and Travel: This is a remote position, which can be based anywhere in the U.S. This position supports our business across the United States. This position does require 25% travel throughout the United States.

MasTec Renewables group is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec's Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure.



Responsibilities

    Support the implementation of industry best practices and a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly tactical activities to insure the timely and efficient management of procurement related project functions
  • Research, analyze, and draw informed data driven conclusions from procurement data in support of department and company (Key Performance Indicators) KPI's
  • Lead, manage, coach and mentor Procurement team
  • Support negotiations on Master Vendor Agreements and project specific supply terms and conditions, bringing appropriate support groups into the conversation as necessary, including legal, finance, permitting and insurance
  • Assign and monitor the Buyers for each project and give direction related contract creation
  • Create processes and direct the team of buyers on preparing, processing and monitoring purchase orders and change orders
  • Assign and monitor the procurement specialist team for each project and provide guidance and direction concerning interactions with projects and accurate reporting
  • Lead the team of Expeditors to facilitate the timely resolution of issues with suppliers related to price, quality, delivery, condition, etc.
  • Support development of the process for tracking keepsake inventory and life cycles for bulk purchases to ensure that the company is maintaining an adequate inventory
  • Monitor, update and improve systems, processes and documents used to perform procurement activities
  • Attend meetings and facilitate discussions with internal customers and external suppliers to promote strong communication and alignment of expectations and results
  • Create, update, communicate and present procurement data and recommendations at applicable meetings
  • Develop and maintain expertise on assigned products and services
  • Work collaboratively with other procurement personnel inside the MasTec family of companies when applicable to determine and implement best practices and procedures


Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field
  • Five years related experience; experience within engineering or construction industries preferred
  • Supply Chain Certification (CSCP, CSCM, CPP, etc.) or demonstrated equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience negotiating; Terms & Conditions (T&C's), Prime Contracts, Master Service Agreements (MSA's), Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA's), Assignment of responsibilities, Liquidated Damages, Insurance & Bonding requirements, etc.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITITES:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Ability to lead and manage others
  • Strong knowledge of construction contract development, negotiation, and deployment
  • Strong data analysis and advanced problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft office suite, especially Excel
  • Ability to use and leverage industry specific software and data mining from Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) software
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical documents
  • Advanced understanding of terms, nomenclature and business models used in the construction industry
  • Ability to be accurate, precise and follow set procedures and standards
  • Excellent collaboration and written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels within the organization and with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
