Tissue Culture Lab Tech Category: Life Science Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-381987 We have a contract opportunity for a Tissue Culture Tech in Gainesville GA. This position is approved for 6 months and could be extended. In addition, there is a good possibility to be hired directly by the client. Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00/Hr. Schedule: Monday - 7:00AM - 5:00PM Tuesday - 7:00AM - 4:00PM Wednesday - 7:00AM - 2:30PM Thursday - 7:00AM - 5:00PM Friday - 7:00AM -12:30PM Labs rotate coming in at 6am and some overtime should be expected. There is rotated weekend work once technicians are trained. It's typically 6 or 7a until 10am on Saturday and 6a or 7a until 11am on Sunday. The techs working the weekend get the prior Wednesday off. Job Description: Assists in all areas in the production of Marek's disease vaccine, which may include, but are not limited to: Performing all processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Utilizes sterile technique at all times. Active knowledge of working under laminar flow hoods and HEPA filtered environment. Communicates any occurrence to team leader and/or supervisor immediately. Responsible for keeping the lab clean and sterile. Individual monthly responsibilities are assigned in each lab. Individual must ensure these activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Assists in receiving roller bottles in labs and receiving roller bottles in holding area. Assists with the candling and racking of eggs in Incubation department. Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records. Promotes safety and awareness in the lab, acting in occurrence with safety practices. Skills: Individual need to be trained in a timely manner on sterile technique and general lab procedures. Able to lift 50 lbs. and carry it 10 ft. Stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile environment. Flexible with work schedule. This position requires weekend work. Regular attendance is necessary. Education: HS Diploma and college a plus Note: Any pay ranges displayed are estimations.
