Responsibilities

  • Design of fire alarm and fire suppression systems

  • Review and development of life safety plans

  • Life safety and building code consulting

  • Collaboration with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines

  • Development of site fire protection features and fire department access plans

  • Communication with clients and writing technical reports

  • Under limited supervision, coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development and construction documents

  • Assist in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems

  • Work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions


Qualifications

  • Associates Degree Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent

  • CFPS and/or NICET Certification preferred

  • Experience in fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety review and design

  • Experience with Revit, AutoCad, and fire protection related computational programs

  • Knowledge of ICC and NFPA codes and standards

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
