We are seeking a motivated IT Program Manager to join our core enterprise technology team supporting New York Life's Strategic Businesses. This pivotal role reports directly to the Head of IT Operations and partners with line-of-business CIOs and their technology teams to execute our strategic roadmap-focusing on operational efficiency, synergistic outcomes, and transformative technology enablement that drives growth and enhances customer experiences.

The IT Program Manager will be instrumental in delivering our technology innovation roadmap across multiple strategic business units. Technology initiatives in scope include generative AI enablement and enhanced data models, platform and ecosystem modernization, cybersecurity practices and risk management, operating models and ways of working, and IT operational efficiencies.The role demands a balance of strategic oversight, technical depth, stakeholder engagement, and leadership in multi-project delivery to ensure timely and high-quality outcomes.

What you'll do:

1. IT Roadmap Strategy & Governance

  • Support the definition, planning, and lead the execution of the multi-year, cross-business technology roadmap.

  • Partner with multiple technology organizations to ensure goals are thoughtfully aligned based on business objectives and shifting priorities.

  • Track and manage dependencies, risks, issues, and deliverables with detailed program governance discipline across concurrent initiatives.

  • Report program status, risk mitigation strategies, and key outcomes to senior leadership.

  • Leverage established KPIs to measure project and program performance and report out to stakeholders.

2. Program & Project Delivery

  • Oversee the coordination and execution of multiple interrelated technology projects on our cross business IT roadmap.

  • Collaborate with delivery teams-developers, analysts, product managers, QA, and DevOps-to ensure timely, within-budget, and high-quality outcomes.

  • Apply fit for purpose agile delivery methodologies based on the impacted business and scope of projects.

  • Facilitate program-level ceremonies and governance, ensuring team alignment and milestone tracking.

  • Manage escalation processes and ensure proactive resolution of delivery challenges.

3. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between Strategic Businesses IT, individual business technology teams, and the corporate tech function.

  • Champion clear, consistent communication across all levels-initiating kickoffs, managing change, and ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Develop and deliver executive-level briefings, reports, and performance dashboards.

  • Track and communicate program financials, benefits realization, and Return on Investment (ROI).

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile, SAFe, Scrum Master) preferred.
  • 6+ years of program or large-scale project management experience in Insurance or Financial Services technology.

  • Experience with enterprise transformation, IT modernization, or technology innovation program execution is highly desirable.

  • Solid technical foundation across software development, data and AI, infrastructure, and cyber security program leadership.

  • Exceptional organizational, leadership, communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed enterprise environment.

  • Proficient with program management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, ChatGPT, and Office 365.

  • Demonstrated passion for innovation, emerging technologies (e.g., Agentic AI), and scalable IT solutions.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$102,500-$150,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
