Overview Job Summary Oversees the daily operation, staff education, and maintenance of the Surgical Services Information System and assists with the Provation System in the Endoscopy Lab. Essential Functions
- Maintains system integrity and security applications. Assists with implementation, education, and on-going updates to systems.
- Serves as a resource to leadership and staff regarding use and integration of automated systems in the clinical setting for PICIS and Provation. Provides training and supports end users.
- Creates and maintains updated physician preference cards and pick lists in PICIS.
- Compiles monthly and other department reports as directed.
- Acts as liaison with IS and outside vendors for support in troubleshooting system problems.
- Audits perioperative documentation and charges for accuracy.
- Performs database maintenance to system dictionaries and tables to ensure integrity and proper system functionality. Performs database builds as necessary.
- Assists with development and updates of policies and procedures related to automated system.
Physical Requirements Lengthy periods of sitting. Requires walking, standing, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support greater than 20 pounds. Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and blood borne pathogens. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Ability to use various computer systems and devices. Education, Experience and Certifications High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Certified Surgical Technician or Registered Nurse (graduate of accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice in North Carolina) preferred. 3 years Operating Room experience with a global knowledge of Surgical Services. Previous experience with design and implementation of Surgical Computer Applications.
