Job Description: Summary The Hydraulic Fracturing Engineer Intern works with field engineers to increase professional development while supporting Engineering operations. Additionally, the internship experience includes mentorship opportunities and performing meaningful work, ranging from specific projects and programs to supporting various activities across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Learn and observe frac site mechanics, which include equipment, operations, safety, and products
- Shadow in the chemical lab and with fluid techs to learn about water quality issues, compatibility testing, friction reducer flow loops, etc.
- Shadow the engineering supervisors in the office and the field engineers to gain better technical knowledge of our operations
- Provide multiple presentations throughout the summer and a final presentation at the end of the summer about what was taught and learned during the internship
- Provide community service to local charities for 1 week
- Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Active enrollment and pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering
- Availability to work full-time (40 hours+ per week) during the summer (late May through early August)
- Able to physically work onsite in Midland, TX
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization
- Ability to meet deadlines while performing reports and presentations
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
- Can maintain professionalism when representing the organization
- Able to work 12-hour shifts
