Ingersoll Rand is seeking a Network Engineer for our connected products from our Power Tool and Lifting (PTL) Business.
The PTL commercial team works to develop customer solutions cross-functionally with electrical engineering, product design, industrial design, program management, and operations to deliver successful connected products to market. Our software team works on the full software stack of our connected products including Ethernet and Wi-Fi features, Zigbee radio, and other connectivity functions. As a Network Engineer on our team, you will work help to define customer needs, develop, integrate, test, deploy and support connected network features and protocols on the product. Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally across design, hardware, software, test, life cycle engineering & support
- Understand customer connectivity needs, contribute to refining product requirements and specifications for connectivity with different types of wireless networks
- Setup, configure and maintain network products for product testing and troubleshooting.
- Work with an internal cross-functional team and external partners to successfully bring wireless products to market and to support them on different customer networks
- Stay current with latest Wireless technology standards and trends and advise the team
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience as a network engineer
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology
- CCNA certification
- Knowledge of WPA2/3 and security standards
- Experience in Radius server management
- Experience in HTTPS, TLS, Certificate management
- Experience with OpenSSL
- Experience in setting up and administering multi-band Wi-Fi networks (Wi-Fi 4/5/6)
- Ability to drive tasks independently and communicate issues/root-cause analysis clearly
Preferences:
- CCNP certification
- Experience in Wireless setup & administration in a
manufacturing plant
- Hands-on experience working with lab equipment for measuring system performance, (i.e. protocol testers and analyzers, one-box testers, call-box testers, network signal analyzers)
- Additional knowledge of radio standards and associated protocols like Zigbee, IEEE802.15.4
Travel & Work Arrangements:
The total pay range for this role, including incentive opportunities, is $107,000-135,000. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
